Printoscope Pre Paid

Printoscope PrePaid is a solution which enables prepaid printing and copying of documents.

The solution includes:

• Website to handle user accounts
• Printoscope Terminal devices placed at the printers, used to identify users by means of proximity cards or pin codes
• Printoscope Terminals, devices, printouts and copies managing software (Printoscope Terminal Server)

User cards

Each user has a unique card that is used to receive printouts or make copies. Each user can have any number of cards or one top-up card.

While copying, there is no necessity to activate the card – an employee can make copies until all of his/her resources are used up. Cards that were not activated can only be recharged at the cards top-up point. Those, who will use the printing functions must first activate their cards. In this case, it is also possible to top-up the account balance by means of wire transfers. The card activation takes place on a dedicated website of Printoscope Pre Paid module.

How to top-up user’s account?

A user account can be topped-up with:

• Properly configured Printoscope Terminal called CDM (cash deposit machine), which is located in a specially designated place such as a Customer Service Point. The CDM is controlled by a person who has a system account with appropriate authorization. Such a person logs into the system by means of the card and PIN code.
• wire transfer by means of the Przelewy24 internet service

Copying

To use the Printoscope Pre Paid system copy service, the user has to possess a card/ an account. The user can make as many copies as it is allowed by the resources available on the card/ account. The card’s / account’s balance is updated after each copy.

Printing

The user, who wants to use the printing services in the Printoscope Pre Paid system, has to:

• Add the printout to the queue on the website
• Have an active card and funds available on his/her account

The system accepts only PDF files. When adding a file, the user has to accept the number of pages and printing costs returned for a printout by the system. After adding a printout, it is ready to be collected from the printer. To do this, the user has to log on to the system and select the printout from the list. If the funds on user’s account are sufficient, the printer makes a printout.

Website

The website allows the user to perform the following operations:

• Account registration
• Adding printouts to the queue
• Topping-up your account using Przelewy24 internet service
• Reviewing the history of the account top-ups
• Reviewing the history of copies and printouts

Printoscope Terminal Server

Printoscope Terminal Server is used for an authorized access to network printing and copying devices. The module includes the queue management and configuration software.

• The user purchases a card which is initially topped–up at the service point. The card is “anonymous” until its activation – it has no connection with the user account. The card may also be topped-up later at the same service point.
• The next step is to activate the card using a dedicated website. User creates a new account or assigns a new card to the existing one.
• The card can be used to copy documents – there is no necessity to activate it in this case. It’s authorization at the Printoscope terminal is sufficient to make copies in an amount not exceeding the funds available on the card.
• Document printing, accounts topping-up by means of wire transfers, as well as viewing the account balance and the list of tasks already carried out is possible on a dedicated website.
